Park Fun!

We spent our day at the park! Stratton's first time on the swings & slide! (While I was holding him) He loved watching all the kids running around and swinging. I'm pretty sure he was the smallest baby there, but that ok. He still loved it!

He also had his first boat ride yesterday, the weather has been so great the last couple days! I was in class but Carter said he really enjoyed it...then passed out. There's something about boat rides, they are just too relaxing.

Ohh & he got a new toy! Thank gma & gpa Duling! This thing is too cool, you can plug in your phone & it plays your music!
Listening to old country music!

Christmas Card Overload

Here are some of the pictures we took for our Christmas card this year. We took 260 photos to get 1! But there are some pretty cute/funny ones that I wanted to share.
The pictures were taken by my dad btw & I'm so happy with how the card actually turned out!

My Mommy Makeup Bag

Today I just wanted to brag about the makeup I got yesterday. Yes, I got this makeup during my record time Target run. Another record is how much I ended up spending on all the makeup - $28 for 7 items! Pretty proud of that, especially because I'm a sucker for the high end makeup but the things I bought are just as great & perfect for moms on the go who don't want to look like roadkill.

I bought a mascara, eyeliner, concealer, BB cream, eyelash curler, makeup brush, and a bronzer!
I believe the BB cream & concealer are essential for mothers. We need to conceal our under eyes from nights with no sleep and even out our neglected  face - no more time to moisturize or exfoliate the face anymore! I've heard great things about the Mabelline Fit Me concealer, and it definitely worked me (my favorite drug store concealer is NYX though.)
Plus a pop of mascara makes our eyes look more awake. The others items just help amplify the features of the face, which is a plus - all moms have the right to feel pretty!

As for today, we visited Grandma Tasset at work! Two grandmas in one week...we are on our roll. We also went to the lactation place, Stratton has been very fussy when I try to feed him - he shows no interest to eat. The nurse told me everything was ok and he looked great, it could just be a phase. But once he actually started to eat...he ended up taking in almost 6oz! I love going there, they weigh him before & after he eats so we know the exact amount of milk he takes in - it deffinitly gives me peace of mind knowing he's a little piggy!

And one last thing! Stratton has lost a lot of hair since birth, and I noticed today it's starting to grow back. Baby's got some peach fuz!!!

Chill Day

Today we were able to hang out with daddy! We went to Target where I broke a record of only being in the store for 6 min -we had lunch at pie five - surprised Grandma Duling at work for the first time - took a nice, long needed nap - and played with a new toy: the Johnny Jumper. We also watched a couple episodes of Revenge on Netflix, which we like to binge watch. Today was a much enjoyable day with my boys.

It is a little kangaroo, it even has a tail! (and yes, it is set up in the pantry)
Stratton has also acquired a couple new skills, he learned how to suck his thumb and suck on his bottom lip. Usually he would just shove his whole fist in his mouth, but now he found his thumb. It is his new best friend.
Going for the thumb
Bottom lip is too tasty!

Maternity Pictures

I believe I was at the end of my 7 months when these where taken.
Photographs taken by my friend Abigail Mies: her website

These are just a handful of the pictures, I love them!

Because I'm a Mom

Because I'm a Mom...

...I now see my mom as super woman
...my life has a perfect purpose
...hearing I am a great mother is the best compliment anyone could give me
...I now see pregnancy as absolutely beautiful (I used to see it as trashy...?)
...I cry at the drop of a hat
...smelling like diapers & spit up IS my perfume
...getting myself ready is not really an option
...pacifiers save my life everyday
...5 of the same picture is never enough
...sleep is a luxury, not a necessity
...kissing Stratton a million times a day is not enough
...breast milk is the most important liquid I have ever came across
...I can stare at a sleeping baby for hours
...I am now a morning person (forced to be)
...I get more excited about buying baby clothes than buying clothes for myself
...seeing Stratton smile makes my heart smile
...I have the hardest but most rewarding job
...my heart has never felt so full
